Connection to your Lotuslive activities from Notes 8.5 clients


As mentioned before the Lotuslive application is a web based subscription tool from IBM. I use it for project collaboration with clients and colleagues. I noticed a difference between the 8.5.1 client and the 8.5.2 client while upgrading my machines in preparation for some Xpages research. So for the benefit of those looking to access their lotus live data from with either version. Note that in both cases I use the https://apps.lotuslive.com as the server I am connecting to. Credentials require are simply the account details you normally log into Lotus live with.

Q.  Will LotusLive Activities display in the Lotus Notes 8.5 client sidebar?

A.  Yes, use the following steps to configure the Notes 8.5 client Activities sidebar:

1. Open the Activities sidebar and click on the “Show connection options” link.
2. This brings you to the Notes  Activities Preferences.
3. Enter http://apps.lotuslive.com for the server URL, then your LotusLive user and password then click on the Advanced button and select the “Tivoli Access Manager Form” TAM option and click OK.
4. Click Apply, wait a few seconds.

Note:  If the above steps do not work, perform the following resetting steps then repeat the above steps:

1. Open the Notes client and go into File, Preferences then select Activities. On that panel, press the Restore Defaults button and then the Apply button.
2. Select the Accounts option. Delete any accounts there which reference Activities such as “Activities” and “ActivitiesRedirect”.
3. Restart the Notes client.

How to configure the Notes 8.5 Activities sidebar for LotusLive:

1.    Install Notes 8.5.1 with the Activities integration included.
2.    Go to the Activities sidebar and click on the “Show connection options” link
3.    This brings you to the Activities preference panel in Notes. Enter URL https://apps.lotuslive.com and your user password at the top and click Apply.
4.    This will cause an authentication dialog to be presented. Cancel out of that. Twice. (This is an attempt to authenticate using Java Form).
5.    Now go to Notes preferences, but this time the Accounts preference panel. Select the Activities account you see there and click the Edit Account button.
6.    Leave everything “as is” up top but click on Advanced properties near the bottom. Change the Authentication Type to HTTP Basic and clear out the Authentication URL.
7.    Restart Notes 8.5.
8.    When you come back in, your Activities sidebar should be populated with your activities.
