After yesterdays announcement we have a new arrival. You’ll be able to pick on up in a week or two. So whats new or useful ?
Dual core A5 chip – should make a difference to the sometimes juddery performance
8 MP camera – with 1080P HD video – could be handy in some circumstances but how many people use it?
Siri (Siriously?) – not sure what this will do with regional accents. If its anything like the autocorrect – which regularly makes stuff up on my iphone 4 then we need to be careful. Also the weirdy factor – not good when frustrated users start shouting at a phone – its only a matter of time.
The IOS cloud and IOS 5 additions make take a bit of time to fully appreciate. Specifically though the feature
Wirelessly sync your iOS device to your Mac or PC over a shared Wi-Fi connection. Every time you connect your iOS device to a power source (say, overnight for charging), it automatically syncs and backs up any new content to iTunes. So you always have your movies, TV shows, home videos, and photo albums everywhere you want them
may be the most telling for corporate and home users alike.
So roll on IOS5 update and lets see whats really been improved.
