This annoyance has been particularly acute as I have been doing development remotely for a client. The remote access is through the excellent ScreenConnect application and I thought that it might have had something to do with that.
The symptom is that when working in Designer you activate one of the beige tooltips which advises you about the particular functionality of the item you hovered over. The issue is that you don’t seem to be able to get rid of it – bar closing Designer. Of course the tooltip covers the section that you are trying to work with and that’s very annoying
However I think that there is a workaround – pressing Escape actually seems to get rid of it !!
I think that the problem seems to happen more with the remote access than say on my own development machine – but at least with this – I don’t have to restart to get a clear view of the designer screen !
