Quick tip – Get Dell Tag Number from command line

Sometimes the Dell Tag label gets rubbed off or damaged so you can no longer see the Dell Service Tag number.

Here is a simple means of getting that piece of info

Start a dos session

type the following and press return

wmic bios get serialnumber

 

Once armed with that – you can use the Dell support site to get the express tag and warranty info !
