Adobe have been working on a codeless approach to web design which may appeal to both beginners and experts alike. Adobe Muse – available here is an Adobe Air application which claims it came create powerfully impacting websites without a piece of code in site. Its still in beta but usuable enough for a good look around.
Described by Adobe as a way to
Create websites as easily as you create layouts for print. You can design and publish original HTML pages to the latest web standards without writing code
I recently had a chance to experiment with it as a way of planning a new website. I found the application powerful enough to allow the creation of a simple site, intuitive enough for someone who dips in and out of web design for intranet sites without be so limited as to be a one task application. Bearing in mind the complexity of the Adobe CS products – this may be enough for a lot of users who aren’t full time designers.
Definitely worth a spin
