Invalid URL syntax messsage when pasting content into a Notes form from a web page

The problem  – When you attempt to copy content from certain Web sites to a new Notes memo or document form , an “Invalid URL syntax” appears

 

 

 

Workaround

Copy the content from Firefox or another non IE browser and then paste to Notes.

or

First copy the content from Internet Explorer to another program  (wordpad for example) and then copy the content from that program and paste it to Notes.

or

In Notes, select File > Preferences > Basic Notes Configuration. Under Additional Options, de-select the option for “Enable Java Script”. (Note: This can also be set in a Desktop policy.) Remember to restart Notes !!

Resolving the problem 

This issue is fixed in 8.5.2 Fix Pack 1 and 8.5.3.
