Xpages training – some options

If you like me  – an occasional Notes / Domino developer looking to re-skill on web development  using xpages. I have to say that a good instructor led course is my preferred option have completed many different types of physical and electronic courses. That said I have found   Matt Whites Xpages101 video training very informative and would heartily recommend that anyone wanting a distance learning approach. I was though looking for a physical course so I found the Xpages Bootcamp running in Amsterdam at the end of next month.

The blurb for the course says

Everything you need to harness the power of XPages to create world-class Notes and Domino Web applications for a Web 2.0 world
  • Learn how to build industrial-strength, first-class Notes and Domino applications with more functionality than ever before in less time while adding new programming skills to your development arsenal.
  • Don’t wait to get back to the office to put what you’ve learned to use! Bring your laptop and get hands-on experience with the entire XPage process from creating the NSF, forms, and views to custom controls and page navigation.
  • Extend your Notes/Domino world to include all the Web 2.0 technologies that you need to round out your development skills and create applications you’ve only dreamed about.
  • Dive into the technologies used in XPages development such as JSFs, zero-code AJAX, servlets, JavaScript toolkits, CSS, and more and walk away with a thorough understanding of how to take make use of them in your applications.
  • Protect your investment in Lotus Notes and Domino by getting the most out of the tools and technologies you’ve already paid for.
  • Learn how to get your applications ready for mobile devices faster by using the open source mobile app development template available in XPages.
  • Get practical, real world instruction on all XPages can do, along with tips, tricks and gotchas, including what’s new in 8.5.2.

Given its relative proximity I’ve decided to bite the bullet and deep dive on Xpages for some up and coming projects. I hope the course lives up to its reputation and that I can get the kinds of skills and insights that I’m after from it.

For those users looking for a computer based approach its only fair to mention TLCC who have both instructor led and computer based training courses including
